The Hot Springs tech told me that this heater is what they call an "after market heater" It does not say "Watkins Nofault" on the heater only the part number and it is of poorer quality, I was expecting a real Watkins nofault. No wonder it only has a 1 year guaranty and the real Watkins heater had a five year guaranty. Not very happy because I paid a good price expecting a real Watkins, product is not worth the money.

Watkins PN 73790 No Fault 6kw Titanium PDR Heater - Tiger River & Limelight Spas by Watkins

Beware of non-titanium heaters (Watkins knock-off heaters). Titanium makes the heater 10 times more resisent to heat and water, prolinging the life of your heater element.

The Watkins part number of this heater is 73790. Used on all 1995 to Current, 110 volt (heater runs at 1.5kw) and 220 Volt (heater runs at 6kw) model HotSpring & Tiger River spas. Watkins manufacturing has replaced old units with this universal 6kw Titanium Heater Element. This heater is INDEED the Watkisn Titanium heating element.

Plumbing of spas manufactured between 1997 and current will have NO issues realigning the plumbing of the old unit with this new one. However, spas dated 1995 & 1996 DO require a plumbing retro-fit Plumbing Kit (71557, also sold in our ebay store under "Parts" and "Heaters") to hook up the new heater, unless it was installed previously.

We also recommend that when you are switching out this unit, regardless of year, to replace the Control Stat Thermistor (PN 38415) and the Hi-Limit Thermistor (PN 38416). It is easier to do it now, while you have the spa apart than to do it down the road. We list these items in our store (Parts Category).
